Yesterday we started a new group/topic of energy and i'm with Felicity! The first lesson was interesting and I learn a lot about Photosynthesis. One of the activities was a sorting challenge  and we had  to sort images into an alive pile and a non living pile. Towards the end of the activity there was a little friction to weather  a sea anemone is an animal or a plant. So Felicity  searched it up and it terns out it's part of both. Felicity also showed us this game that you try to grow a flower by hitting heat and water buttons on the screen...... it's actually way harder than it looks.

Fact:
Photo means light in Greek and synthesis mean putting together

Maths with Amy

Being in Amy's Fractions workshop was really helpful for me. I think it helped me improve in many ways (E.G understanding the subject and also help me get through that little learning pit).
One of the things we worked on was finding a fraction of a set. I fell a bit more confident with the subjects we learnt in Amy's  Maths workshop and that makes me fell great,happy and impurest with myself






Roller coster making

MACKING A ROLLER COSTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

This immersion was fun today because we got to build a roller coster.
After we chose the shape to computer gave is ither a thumds up or down, rating us on how safe and fun our disine was. I was not sucsessfull how ever and it is actully harder than it lookes.

                                                                                                                              Rapping readers was a blast because we were reading a book called wonder. For me wonder was inspiring and a sort of role modle book for younger people for kids with appearance conditions. For me it tort me that you can be who you wanted to be and do what you heart puts its mind to.

I as a 11 year old, would strongly recommend wonder, especially for kids with self doubt and depression because it would put their spirits up and even change their perspective of a person or life..... It did for me.  


As we started Wonder it cicked of with a little boy called Augest and his family including his pet dog Daisy. Throughout the book  there was a strong pull of emotions.

As a follow up we  had to make some sort of presentation about bullying because that was what the book is based on.

The whole journey through rapping readers was amazing and helped me improve with my writing and reading.                                        

Building in immersion

Making a house in immersion

Today in immersion we got to pick a box with pices to build ither a house, a hellycopter or a mini ball sercit.

Our group picked the hardest one.... the house. To start of  with Maya  C read out the instructions and everyone put the pieces in as she read.

Out of the whole group I think Keira did the most work and Emily helped to.o But most of the other people just stood and watched.

We had some problems with understanding to instructions because  they sounded a bit to complex.

I think our group collaborated the best and even though we built our object last we got  there in the end and I stood by my team, proud.

             MY TERM 1-2 AMAZING RACE PROJECT EXPERIENCE REPORT

What I learnt

My journey through our amazing race project was amazing. Through the experience one of the things I  learnt was you learn lots through a project from the safety of a student to the organizing of an event. I think personally that one of the greatest benefits of  a project is that you learn a great lot of life skills that we will need to know later.

How long

At the stem of the projects existenc we had to go through lots of steps to find exactly what we wanted to do. These steps took everyone about three weeks and those weeks we the coor prodguse to our progects formation. We begiun our orgenizing and reaserching for the project and that adds up to about five weeks..... It fellt for ages

Porpiose

The only rezon this amazing race idear came to mind was because we were in the fitness project groupand because great minds think a like. In that group our sole porpiose was to get our class more active, less lazy,into fitness and to really understand the point of fitness and the right workshops to lead/run. Out of those choices our group went with: Less lazyness. We came up with lots of great idears that would help with our problem but the amazing race idear was just the one for us.

How did we learn

Juring the reaserch and orgenizing staje of things for me is was the key point of my learning.I learnt many things throug this and one of the things I lernt was how to write a proper news letter.

Our challenges

I think one of our main team chellenges was to coladorate, nearly every week we had to go to Nicole wich must not of inprest her. Another problem was that we keept having difficultys like with parents and with our orginization.

☆Cellebrations

We had many problems but most of them pushed through and we got. We maniged to pull to gether four teams, A perfect notice and a hopfull Nicole. It was heart beating. The whole experionce was an onore and to do it with my friends made it even more so.










Felicitys Maths

     FELICITY MATHS WORKSHOPS

I am in felicity's maths workshops and we are currently working on length and we just finished on  to tell the time. For my followups iv'e been so busy that I had no chance to do them but this morning I have finished nearly all of my over due ones and this afternoon i'm going to finish them all.

I think felicity has helped me a lot with my maths learning towards time and how to tell the time. I hope it will be the same with length too.

I like how we get lots of followups because some of them are challenging but other ones iv'e learnt well and I fly through them. 

Immersion with Nicole


                      Immersion

Immersion is brain pumping for me!!
This week on the 06/06/17 in Nicole's Immersion group we observed lite candles, and we had some practice sketching them and how they changed on a piece of paper we go. As each minute went by it was so interesting to see the changes in the candle, like the wax had changed a lot as it melted by the heat of the flame. It was funny at some times because it looked like the candle was doing some sort of dance. I think the air was making the candle wave.


Because we sketched them every 2-5 minutes or so, we also got to look at 2 nails the group put in cups of water. One was salt water and one was normal water.  I went out to go see the nails I thought it was very fascinating that the nail in the salt water had rusted more than the one in the normal water.


At the end of the sketching Kothar and Nicole put a white plate over top of one of the candles and it was amazing. As the plate got closer to the flame a black sort of splodge called soot formed on the plate.

The group  walked out of the science room and  there were 4 glass cups and 4 tea light candles.  We got 4 timers to time how long the flame would stay lit when we put the cup over them, the cups we all different sizes.

My overall project reflection

In my project i enjoyed the process of seeing our event come together and working with my friends.

Through this project i think i learnt that to be a team you need a lot of communication and  a project isn't just doing a rough sketch and  you begin, the process includes much more planning,designing,team work and  i think the key skill  you need in a project is perseverance.

In my group there were Amy,Mackenzie,Radha and me.I think our group could of worked better together because we were not really on the same page all the time….but that might just be what i think.
In my next project experience i think i could  try to collaborate a little bit more and maybe be a little more open for new ideas.

When we presented our project  i think  i did well  but i could improve next time by not being shy.

The feedback we got didn't help at all though.I mean it was nice and a little thoughtful but it was in no way helpful.

It was nice to see the other students projects as well. The ideas they have are phenomenal.
