Learning over seas
In the term 2 holidays Mum tock me and Tiarna over seas with the rest of my close family to Fiji to celebrate my Popa's 70th birthday.
When we landed and a van was tacking us to a boat to get to the island we were staying at, I saw lots of houses that were tiny and in a bad condition and little children doing the racking and washing in the boiling heat. To me this was very sad and when we drove passed a school it didn't look like schools back home, it was small and did not look like could fit many kids, but ablest they have schools.
As we drove on I also noticed that there culture is very different to ours. When we got to the island a couple of days later there was a cava ceremony and cava is like wine to them and not only that by you had to pick up the bowl in a special way. Most of the staff on the island Spock Fijin to their other staff friends which was annoying because you just want to know what they are saying.
The minute we landed we all noticed that everyone was so kind and so were the people on the island. They smiled at your arrival and when we arrive some of the staff played a song for welcome.
On the island they also had 4 turtle pools full of an endangered species of turtle and on our 2nd day on the island the had a turtle relic of 5 turtles with was amazing to watch. This made me realise that they care about saving this species
